Behind Manana stands Wissam Manana, who founded the atelier in 2010 with a clear mission: to end the tyranny of standard sizes. As a long-time pattern maker, he saw daily how the industry ignores real bodies. His goal was to democratize bespoke tailoring—moving away from elite pricing toward pants that truly fit every individual.

From pattern maker to bespoke atelier – a journey that began in 2010.
The Beginning
Wissam Manana learned his craft in the textile industry from the ground up. As a pattern maker, he developed cutting patterns for major brands and saw a recurring problem: the industry's standard sizes only really fit a fraction of the population well.
"I witnessed daily how frustrated people were when buying pants," Manana recalls. "Some couldn't find anything for their muscular thighs, others needed longer legs, still others had issues with the waistband. The solution was always the same: custom-made. But that was unaffordable for most."
In 2010, he took the leap: With his knowledge of industrial pattern making and a self-developed database for measurement profiles, he founded the Manana Atelier. The idea: custom quality at fair prices through intelligent digitization of processes.
The Path to Atelier 20
What started as a one-man operation grew over the years into a well-coordinated team under the mjeans brand. The move to Langhansstraße 20 in Berlin-Weissensee marked a turning point: finally there was enough space for the entire production, fabric storage, and personal customer consultation.
The "20" remained our symbol—as the name of our atelier, it stands for transparency and an invitation to experience the craft live. While the industry produces behind closed doors, we open ours. Customers can experience fabrics haptically, look over our tailors’ shoulders, and understand how real bespoke pants are made.
Today, Manana at Atelier 20 combines the best of both worlds: the precision of digital measurement databases with the skill of experienced tailors. The result is pants under the mjeans brand that don’t just fit, but emphasize the personality of their wearers.

The name mjeans is the evolution of Manana Jeans. It stands for our digital heart: a database perfected over years that stores your individual measurements and links them with our precise patterns.
Once measured, you can reorder blindly at any time. Whether new colors, different fabrics, or changed details—the fit remains consistently perfect. Your digital measurement profile grows with you and can be adjusted in the Manana system at any time if your body changes.
Thanks to mjeans, you can see a realistic preview of your choice right in the online configurator. You’re not configuring blindly; you’re controlling a digitally supported craftsmanship process.
Atelier 20 – The Production
Atelier 20 is the place where bits and bytes become real quality. In our Berlin atelier, experienced tailors work to craft every garment by hand.
- Direct Production: No outsourcing, no anonymous factories. From digital cutting to the final seam, everything happens under the Manana roof in Langhansstraße.
- Material Ethics: We process denim and twill from the best mills in Italy, Portugal, and Japan. We source our threads directly from Germany for maximum tear resistance.
- Honest Prices: Through direct sales as mjeans and in-house production at Atelier 20, we offer bespoke quality from 104 €. You pay for the craft, not for the middlemen.
- Personal Control: Every pair of pants is individually handled by our tailors. We don’t produce fast; we produce right.

Custom Jeans
Our jeans are the heart of our range. We offer over 20 different denim fabrics – from classic raw denim to soft stretch variants to light summer fabrics.
Cuts: Choose from 5 different base cuts – Bootcut for the classic 70s look, Sailor Cut for maritime style, Tapered Cut in carrot shape, Straight Cut as a timeless all-rounder, or Skinny Cut for the modern, slim look.
Fits: Each cut is available in three fits – tight for a figure-hugging silhouette, regular for comfortable everyday wear, or loose for maximum freedom of movement.
Custom Chinos
Chinos are the more elegant alternative to jeans. They're made from lighter cotton twill and are more versatile – perfect for the office, meetings, or dressier occasions.
Our chino fabrics come from the same quality mills as our denim. The color palette ranges from classic beige and navy through olive tones to summery pastel colors.
Of course, all the benefits of custom-made apply here too: perfect fit, individual cut, and the ability to determine details like waistband style, pocket shape, and hem length yourself.
9 Thread Colors
From classic golden yellow through orange and brown to white and black – the thread significantly affects the appearance of your jeans and can be freely chosen.
Waistband Styles
Classic button closure or modern zipper? High waist or low rise? You decide how your pants sit and how they close.
Details & Extras
Rivets yes or no? Leather patch or fabric? Contrast stitching or tone-on-tone? In the configurator, you can determine every detail of your dream pants.

Whether Mjeans for everyday wear or an elegant chino for the office – we don't think in standard sizes. We think in solutions.
Fit Guarantee
Pinching at the hip? Have your thighs grown from sports? Has your waist changed? We adapt the cut to your morphology – and with every order anew, if needed.
If something doesn't fit perfectly even though you've provided your measurements correctly, we make complimentary adjustments. If the error is on our side, we naturally make a new pair.
We have customers with leg length differences, uneven hips, or special requirements due to prostheses. We find a solution for everyone – because that's what bespoke is for.
Copy Service: Your Favorite Pants as Template
Do you have a favorite pair of jeans that's slowly falling apart and can no longer be bought? Pants that fit like no other, but whose brand has long disappeared from the market?
Bring it to Atelier 20. We measure your pants precisely, document every cut angle and every seam. Then we sew you a twin – in exactly the same fit, but from new, high-quality fabric.
You can even change details: different color, different fabric, different pocket shape. But the fit remains the one you love. And of course, you get your reference pants back undamaged.
Plus Sizes Without Surcharge
Since we make each pair individually to your measurements, there are no size limits. Whether XS or 5XL – we craft for every body type at the same price.
We don't have "plus size surcharges" like those common in the ready-to-wear industry. More fabric doesn't mean more money for us – because the material share of the price is minimal with quality denim anyway.
Repair & Alteration
Your Mjeans showing signs of wear after years of faithful service? We offer repair service for all pants made by us. Worn spots, broken zippers, or frayed inner seams – we repair what can be repaired.
For major alterations, such as after weight changes, we check individually whether adjustment is possible. If not, we offer existing customers discounted new orders – we already have your measurement profile, after all.

We know not everyone likes to measure themselves. That's why we offer five different measurement methods.
Body Measurements
The classic method: With a tape measure, you measure yourself at 9 points – waist, hip, crotch, thigh, knee, calf, and hem circumference, plus outseam and inseam length. Our configurator guides you step by step with images.
Own Pants as Template
Already have a well-fitting pair? Take measurements from your favorite pants and transfer them to the configurator. We explain exactly how to correctly measure waist width, inseam, and more from the pants.
Standard Sizes
For a quick start: Choose your usual standard size as a starting point. We recommend this method for customers who want to fine-tune their fit later – after the first delivery, you can make adjustments.
Saved Measurements
For existing customers: Use your already saved measurements from previous orders. With one click, you adopt the values that have proven themselves – and can adjust individual values if needed.

We ship climate-neutral via DHL, or you pick up your pants at the atelier. Shipping within the EU costs a flat 7.90€.

We work with mills in Italy, Portugal, and Japan that focus on resource-friendly production, pay fair wages, and maintain transparent supply chains. Most of our fabrics are GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified.
